The Holiday season naturally means lots of visits from family and friends; many of which may be visiting from overseas to spend time and share Christmas with those close to them-even more so when you live in bright, sunny Barbados! The guest room is a space you want to make sure you prepare for the holidays to really make them feel comfortable, welcome and at home! There are lots of ways to add a special and thoughtful touch without breaking the bank! Check out these great tips  from Dwellings to get your space guest-ready with a Christmas touch.

1. Start with the bed: The best way to make sure your guest is comfortable in their room is to make sure the bed looks plush and inviting! A good mattress and pillows means a good nights sleep. This makes all the  difference to how your guests enjoy their stay. Freshen up the look of the room by adding new bedding; layers of bedding and lots of throw cushions will give that hotel feel! Make sure you have a coverlet on top of the sheets and a duvet for that super plush look. Throw cushions add interest with colour and pattern.

2. Make your guest space like a spa: Lay out a fresh set of matching towels and co-ordinating bath accessories. Putting in the extra effort really makes your guest feel welcome. Turn it up a notch with some scented candles and your guest will feel really special and ever so grateful.

3.The Hilton has nothing on you: When setting up your guest space think of all the little things that will make them more comfortable-much like all the little extras you may find at a hotel. Stock the bathroom with essentials such as shampoo, soap and toothpaste. Set up a personal coffee machine for your guest so they can get their morning jumpstart in bed before getting ready for the day.

4. Add a hint of whimsy: Don’t be afraid to add a bit of Holiday decor to your guest space. Add a tabletop tree to a desk or dresser to make them feel at home and share the holiday spirit!

5. Be sure to include items such as books and dvds for your guest to make use of in their room at night. Add a basket of goodies for the extra special guest that includes bottles of water, snacks and any other item that allows them to be comfortable during their stay. Guests don’t want to hassell their hosts and this little touch is extra thoughtful
